Orinda schools continue legacy of excellence.

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012

For families with school-age children, certainly one of Wilder’s greatest advantages is eligibility to attend Orinda public schools. In 2011, the Orinda Union School District achieved an Academic Performance Index (API) score of 957 out of a possible 1000 – one of the highest in California. And Orinda’s Miramonte High School continues to be ranked among the first in the state. In fact, Miramonte has consistently produced graduation rates between 99% and 100%, with 82% of graduates meeting University of California requirements.

The entire district performs at an exceptionally high level – including the four public elementary schools and Orinda Intermediate School, as well. So, when we say Wilder will be a great place for kids, we mean it in every possible way.

At Wilder, home is more than a home. It’s a place. A place connected to nature, inspired by outdoor living and centered around growing and living beautifully.

With homesites and custom homes set among the rolling hills of Orinda, Wilder is surrounded by thousands of acres of open space, trails and playfields. All less than thirty minutes from downtown San Francisco. Soon we will be opening our model home and several of our Crafted Collection homes – offering award-winning architecture, beautifully landscaped yards and designer-appointed finishes. Come discover a place like no other.

Wilder is coming to life.

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

This is an exciting year at Wilder. The first custom homes will be completed, the model home will start welcoming visitors, the first two community playfields will be ready for play and the Quarry House recreation center and swim club will open its doors.

Designed by award-winning Robert Hidey Architects, the custom homes now available for purchase are nestled into the hill on quiet Rabble Road—a cul-de-sac with spectacular views of Mt. Diablo and the valley below. The first home is a contemporary interpretation of the classic Orinda Ranch style with a single-level floorplan, three bedrooms, three-and-a half baths, and 2,380 square feet of living space. The second is a charming and free-flowing Bay Area Cottage with five bedrooms, five baths, two-half baths, and almost 6,000 square feet. These homes, which will be ready for residents later this fall, include designer-selected features and finishes and elegant landscaping.

With sweeping views of Gateway Valley, the Quarry House recreation center and swim club will be the social heart of Wilder. This gracious hacienda will open later this spring and includes a fully-equipped fitness center, first-class swimming pool and spa, and relaxed gathering places.

It’s all happening this year. Come see.

Gateway Boulevard is now Wilder Road.

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Call it another sign of progress. The big green sign over Highway 24 that used to announce the Gateway Boulevard exit now reads “Wilder Road.” It might take some getting used to, especially if you’re a commuter who has passed under that sign and listened to local rush hour traffic reports every day for years. But it’s a change whose time has come.

Last year, the Orinda City Council voted to change the name of the road and, consequently, the exit. A logical decision in our opinion, for the simple reason that Wilder Road takes you right into Wilder.

In fact, you can take this exit now to preview the home sites, peruse Wilder’s exclusive custom home designs and watch this new community take shape right before your eyes.

Start your tour at the Ranch House any day from 10am to 5pm. Just take Highway 24 to the Wilder Road exit – located between the Caldecott Tunnel and the downtown Orinda exit, and follow the signs to the Ranch House at 2 Wilder Road. We recommend that you schedule an appointment with Gerry Bakalian or Robin Rogers by calling 925-254-9900. You may also send an email to gerry@orindawilder.com or robin@orindawilder.com.
